Dr. Kaufman’s work focuses on 4 audience initiatives using the power of your reptile brain.
Learners: I steer students of all ages to tune out the dysfunctional behaviors inside and out using behavioral test-flights to help them build resilience and flexibility.
Executives: I empower executives to transform into high functioning rock stars with Moonshots & Missions.
Start-ups: I educate entrepreneurs in building teams and a culture all aligned and focused on their North Star and steady moral compass.
And I instruct institutions to accelerate education and training into the 21st century and beyond with AI, VR, and live simulations powered fail fast, fall forward soft landing launch pads.
I work as a 21st century learning science consultant. Therefore all of my engagement are based on my 6 step system of change for the reptile brain. I can modify any part into webinars, seminars, workshops or break-out sessions. On rare occasions I will do keynotes, but with my work as an author, consultant, and professor, my focus is on accelerating change as a catalyst to harness the dysfunctional behaviors in all of us.
My six step system is designed to focus on the space between your reptile and monkey brain.
First sense-making, I look for the invisible variables of dysfunction
Second scripts, I have hundreds of scripts for every scenario to probe for dysfunction.
Third scenarios, I have you or your teams observe challenges to catch the scripts and debrief the power dynamics.
Fourth simulations, I put you or your teams into new scenes to navigate and search for solutions.
Fifth stand and deliver, I collaborate with your teams to put people in situations with difficult options, supplied with the experiences of scripts, scenarios, and simulations.
And finally sixth, the sign and scale, I provide all the tools and techniques to train the trainer. To enable and empower participants to continue to grow and spread the skills and knowledge from the process.
Most of my straight speaking engagements are for academic or research forums and panels. For private speaking for companies and industry associations, I generally combine my speaking events with seminars, break-outs or workshops. I find talking heads at a podium limits one’s impact.
Each engagement is different depending on location, needs, and outcomes. I have non-profit rates for very special causes as well as co-sponsor offerings that can slide the fees as well.
Also depending on the needs as an author, I can include books, workbooks, and other tools for each member of the audience depending on your objectives.
As a doctor of dysfunction I can work with no screens. Or I can work with multiple projection screens. I bring all my props with me and they fit in a small compartment in my carry-on.
I focus on one big topic: Dysfunction, that fast, hot, impulsive, instinctual, intuitive emotional part of your behavior that makes you human.
I apply wit, humor, and the irony of dysfunction to sales performance, school performance, leadership performance, interactive design and organizational culture.
So students who want to excel, sales persons who want to bust quotas, leaders who want to succeed, designers who want to get into a flow, and entrepreneurs who want everyone rowing in the same direction.
If we fit, I serve. My job is my passion. I don’t offer anything that does not fit into accelerating learning, tackling dysfunction, or understanding persuasion. These three may seem very distinct, but they are intimately tied together in every organization. Therefore, as a professor, author, and speaker I customize my talks and training around your needs, because I wouldn’t have it any other way.
